The Flemish Carillon Guild is a member of the World Carillon Federation (WCF) which was founded in 1974. This international organization is an umbrella association for all national carillon guilds and consists itself of several committees.

The secretarial committee made a survey of carillons and carillonneurs all over the world. It is published on the WCF website (WWW.CARILLON.ORG).

A keyboard committee is attempting to develop a world standard for carillon playing consoles.

The most important function of the World Carillon Federation is the organization of a biennial international carillon congress. International carillon congresses were held in Flanders in 1922 (Mechelen), 1972 (Mechelen), and 1998 (Mechelen and Louvain).
